What's Happening at Hyperion
U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly, R-Miss., visited Hyperion Technology Group on Friday, Aug. 7, spending the day touring the company's production floor and meeting the engineers and program leaders behind its UAS tracking, gunshot detection, and automation systems. The visit gave Rep. Kelly a close-up look at technology Hyperion has developed and refined in Mississippi: systems that track unmanned aircraft, sensors that detect gunfire and incoming artillery fire in real time, and the automation systems the company designs and builds as a service for its commercial partners.
From the briefing, the tour continued onto Hyperion's production floor, where Rep. Kelly spoke with members of the team about the systems moving through development and manufacturing. Rep. Kelly also got a hands-on look at the infrasound sensor technology behind both Hyperion's FireFLY gunshot detection and C-UAS tracking system and its SPARTN counterbattery detection system.
