Position description 

Hyperion Technology Group, Inc. is seeking an Electronic Assembly Technician to join our team. The Electronic Assembly Technician will work closely with engineering and design teams to perform detailed electrical, mechanical, and thermal protection systems assembly, application, and check-out operations. Candidate must be well organized and be expected to communicate issues and concerns to designers, engineers, and management. HTG builds custom sensor systems, automated machinery, testing equipment, and specialized systems for a variety of industries, including but not limited to Medical/Life Sciences, Automotive, Industrial, Military Systems, and Government Research and Development.


Essential Job Duties:

• Act as part of a team executing assembly of prototype, low-rate initial production systems, low volume production, and subassemblies.

• Produce wiring harnesses and cables utilizing technical drawings

• Perform hand soldering operations, including component installation and circuit rework.

• Contribute to status updates and support constructive communication within the team.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Required Skills:

• Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing environment. Internship experience will be considered.

• Demonstrated technical skills

• Strong time management 

• Strong record keeping skills

• Understanding of basic electrical concepts

• Ability to understand technical documentation (electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and work instructions)

• Ability to properly utilize a variety of hand tools (wire stripper, screwdriver, cutters, etc.)

• Ability to properly utilize test equipment (digital multimeter DMM, LCR meter, etc…)

• Ability to perform hand soldering operations, both through hole technology and surface mount technology

• Ability to adhere to production schedules and deadlines.

• Ability to pack sensitive equipment for shipping using appropriate packing materials

• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)



Required qualifications

Required Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Associate's Degree in a Technical Field or Technical Military Training/Operational Specialty required.

• Candidate must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing environment. Internship experience will be considered.


Desired Experience:

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a technical or manufacturing environment 


Physical Demands: 

• Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors. 

• Candidate must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. 

• Duties will also require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting light to moderately heavy objects. 


This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Vetting Risk Operations Center (VROC), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.  Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.  Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
