SPARTN

The Scalable Passive Acoustic Reporting & Targeting Nodes (SPARTN) is a passive acoustic weapon locating system. SPARTN uses the principles of acoustic signals produced by the firing of rockets, artillery, and mortars (RAM), improvised explosive devices (IED), or other acoustic events to determine their location.

SPARTN utilizes acoustic infrasound sensors to provide artillery personnel with detection and location of acoustic events in support of target acquisition operations.
