Hyperion utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to augment targeted, physics-based models to enhance the performance of our proprietary sensor platforms, such as the FireFLY and Hyperion infrasound systems. Our AI/ML efforts are primarily focused on event classification in defense applications - including personnel detection, gunshot recognition, and ground vehicle classification - leveraging acoustic, infrasound, and visual data. These models are typically integrated directly onto edge devices, enabling real-time decision-making in complex, resource-constrained environments.

In partnership with organizations such as the U.S. Air Force, NOAA, and the Army Corps of Engineers’ ERDC, we design, develop, and deploy tailored AI/ML solutions that meet demanding operational requirements. Our recent work with ERDC advanced a self-contained system to interpret seismic, acoustic, and infrasound data, supporting the Army’s mission to better understand adversary behavior and movement across varied terrain. By integrating advanced algorithms into an accessible, scalable toolset, we demonstrated how cutting-edge research can be translated into practical solutions that strengthen situational awareness and mission responsiveness.
