Threat-Mapped Protection Assessment & Simulation Tool (TMPAST)
TMPAST is a development effort for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research & Development Center (ERDC) to provide an analytical capability for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Bombing Prevention (OBP).
Four analysis capabilities provided:
- Viewshed Analysis: Indicates all locations either on a building or the ground that has line-of-sight to a selected point.
- Sniper Analysis: Identifies feasible locations on selected buildings from which a sniper could threaten a target location. Heatmaps provide a visualization of shot probabilities based on a stochastic model.
- Bomb Standoff Analysis: Implements a visualization of the DHS Bomb Card guidelines for evacuation and shelter-in-place distances given multiple bomb threats of different sizes.
- Blast Analysis: Provides range rings and heatmaps to visualize effects of blast overpressure and bomb fragmentation for a selected bomb location and size. The number of expected lethal injuries can also be calculated for a population within a user-specified area.
